The Gospel of God

When a person is born again, they become a son of God and are able to see the kingdom of God. However, this experience alone is not salvation. Jesus taught that we must enter the kingdom by being born of water and the Spirit. ‘Entering the kingdom’ is the process, pioneered by Jesus, through which we become a ‘man in the image and likeness of God’.

The apostle Paul referred to Jesus Christ as the perfect man. Through His offering journey from the Garden of Gethsemane all the way to His resurrection, He became the first man truly made in the image and likeness of God. We obtain salvation only as we are conformed to His image through our life-long fellowship in the journey He pioneered. The Scriptures call this journey ‘the fellowship of His sufferings.’ This is the meaning of baptism, which likewise makes us ‘man in the image and likeness of God.’
